Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) explains what is allowed and prohibited when using TechVPS VPS hosting, cloud server, virtual private server, networking, storage, IP address, and related infrastructure services.

This AUP forms part of the TechVPS Terms of Service.

1. Policy Scope

This AUP applies to all TechVPS services, including:

  • Linux VPS.
  • Windows VPS.
  • NVMe VPS.
  • Cloud VPS hosting.
  • IP addresses.
  • Network resources.
  • Storage resources.
  • Client area, API, support, and billing systems.

By using TechVPS services, you agree to comply with this AUP.

2. Responsible Use

Customers must use TechVPS services responsibly, lawfully, and securely.

You are responsible for:

  • Securing your VPS.
  • Keeping software updated.
  • Monitoring server activity.
  • Preventing unauthorized access.
  • Maintaining backups.
  • Responding to abuse reports.
  • Ensuring your hosted content and applications comply with applicable laws.

3. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Malware, ransomware, viruses, trojans, spyware, botnets, or malicious code.
  • Phishing, credential theft, impersonation, fake login pages, or fraud.
  • Spam, bulk unsolicited email, open mail relays, or email reputation abuse.
  • DDoS attacks, DoS attacks, packet flooding, amplification attacks, or traffic abuse.
  • Port scanning, brute forcing, credential stuffing, exploit scanning, or unauthorized access attempts.
  • Hosting, distributing, or linking to illegal, harmful, or infringing content.
  • Copyright infringement, pirated software, illegal streaming, illegal file sharing, or unauthorized distribution of protected material.
  • Child exploitation material or any content involving abuse of minors.
  • Terrorism, violent extremism, or content that promotes serious harm.
  • Financial fraud, card testing, scam pages, fake payment pages, or deceptive schemes.
  • Any activity that violates applicable local or international law.

4. Network Abuse

Customers must not use TechVPS infrastructure in a way that harms network stability, IP reputation, upstream providers, other customers, or third parties.

Prohibited network abuse includes:

  • IP spoofing.
  • MAC spoofing.
  • ARP abuse.
  • Open recursive DNS abuse.
  • Open proxy abuse.
  • Public proxy or VPN resale that causes abuse, fraud, or reputation damage.
  • Traffic tunneling used for illegal, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.
  • Mass scanning.
  • DDoS participation.
  • Abnormal bandwidth usage that affects service stability.

5. Email Usage

Customers may run email services only if they are properly configured and used lawfully.

Prohibited email activity includes:

  • Spam.
  • Unsolicited bulk email.
  • Phishing email.
  • Open mail relays.
  • Snowshoe spam.
  • Email spoofing.
  • Malware distribution.
  • High bounce-rate campaigns.
  • Sending email to purchased, scraped, or non-consenting lists.

TechVPS may suspend email ports, restrict SMTP, or terminate services involved in email abuse.

6. Resource Abuse

Customers must not use VPS resources in a way that causes instability or unfair usage.

TechVPS may investigate or limit:

  • Excessive CPU usage.
  • Abnormal RAM usage.
  • High disk I/O abuse.
  • Bandwidth flooding.
  • Cryptocurrency mining that affects shared infrastructure.
  • Nested virtualization without permission.
  • Automated scraping or crawling that violates third-party terms or causes network complaints.

7. Security Responsibilities

Customers must keep their VPS secure.

Recommended security practices include:

  • Use strong passwords.
  • Use SSH keys where possible.
  • Disable unused services.
  • Configure firewall rules.
  • Keep software updated.
  • Protect admin panels.
  • Monitor login activity.
  • Maintain offsite backups.
  • Report suspected compromise quickly.

If a VPS is compromised and used for abuse, TechVPS may suspend the service until the issue is resolved.

8. Abuse Reports

Abuse reports should be sent to:

Please include:

  • IP address or hostname.
  • Date and time of incident.
  • Logs or evidence.
  • Description of the abuse.
  • Contact information.

TechVPS will review abuse reports and may request additional information.

9. Enforcement

TechVPS may take enforcement action based on the severity, urgency, and risk of the violation.

Actions may include:

  • Warning.
  • Request for correction.
  • Temporary suspension.
  • Port blocking.
  • IP null-routing.
  • Service restriction.
  • Account review.
  • Service termination.
  • Permanent account closure.

Immediate suspension may occur for serious abuse, legal risk, malware, phishing, DDoS, fraud, copyright abuse, or threats to network stability.

10. No Waiver

Failure by TechVPS to enforce this AUP in one case does not waive our right to enforce it in another case.
